(More customer reviews)Although Amazon's description says this unit is "designed for boats up to 4000 lbs", mine just manages to handle my boat which weighs about 1200 lbs. Wiring was a nightmare (I had an electrician do it for me) and, surprisingly, was designed for a use with a car rather than with a truck, so so truck owners will need to buy a plug.
The heavy nylon strap is a plus, but lack of a remote and emergency handle for manual operation are definite minuses. If I could do it again I'd save my pennies and buy a more powerful unit with remote control.

Pulling a boat onto your trailer is easy with the flip of a switch. Disengage the clutch knob to pull the strap out and hook it on, re-engage the clutch, and let the winch motor do the rest. Enclosed outer case covers all moving parts. For boats up to 4000 lbs gross weight. Note: For horizontal pulling applications only - not for vertical lifting.
